Les Affaires Plus - Can you beat the market?
In its Spring 2018 edition, the Les Affaires Plus magazine published an article (in French only) entitled "Est-il possible de battre les marchés?" on page 29. This article by Ian Gascon, president of Idema Investments, explains why it is difficulty to systematically beat the market over a long period. It also highlights that pas returns are not a good indicator of the future performance of a fund or portfolio manager and should therefore not be the sole or main element of decision.
